- Leaves, knives, loaves, thieves, shelves, halves, wolves
Adjective Phrases
- The castle had a beautiful garden.
- The hounds, huge and silent, leapt in the air.
Unit 6 – Let’s Celebrate!
- Vocabulary: Celebration, Thronging, Displays, Neighbourhood, Code
- Comprehension: People gather in city centers to see fireworks displays.
- Fireworks should be kept away from flames to avoid accidents.
Grammar – Present Perfect Tense
- We have enjoyed the fireworks.
- He has followed the firework code.
- She has written about the display.
Spelling – “ship/hood” Suffix
- ownership, friendship, neighbourhood, championship, hardship
Unit 7 – Stig of the Dump
- Vocabulary: wreckage, clutching, somersault, rotten, den
- Comprehension: Barney wished he was at the bottom of the pit because he was scared and wanted to escape.
Grammar – Contractions
- can’t = cannot, doesn’t = does not, I’m = I am
Unit 8 – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
- Vocabulary: unhygienic, unsightly, improved, contaminated, donate
- Comprehension: Governments provide bins to separate recyclable and non-recyclable waste.
Grammar – Prefixes
- un- (not): unhygienic
- mis- (wrongly): misbehave
- dis- (reverse): dismount
- re- (again): recycle
